In August of 2013, The Woman’s Club of Clayton clubhouse at 109 Church Street, which was erected in 1904 as a school building and moved to its present location in 1923, was recognized by the NC State Historical Register as a historic building. The old school building was remodeled in 1931 by Architect Douglas Ellington. Clubhouse rentals help pay the ongoing expenses but donations are needed to update the clubhouse.
